How to raise a complaint

Write to the Presiding Officer or any member, put a written complaint in the ICC complaint box, or meet a member in person. Every complaint is kept confidential and is not shared without the complainant’s consent.

What the ICC does

  • Receives complaints through the complaint box, email or in person.
  • Inquires into each complaint in a timely, impartial and confidential way.
  • Keeps records of every complaint and inquiry, in strict confidence.
  • Recommends action when a complaint is upheld, from a formal warning to termination, depending on the seriousness.
  • Supports the complainant during and after the inquiry, including counselling and legal help where needed.
  • Builds awareness of the institute’s prevention of sexual harassment (POSH) policy and how to report.
  • Reports every year to the authorities: complaints received and resolved, cases pending over 90 days, and training and awareness programmes held.

Objectives

  • Build understanding of sexual harassment through education that keeps the campus respectful and safe.
  • Give anyone affected an unbiased, private and supportive place to be heard.
  • Resolve complaints fairly and on time.
  • Make sure students, faculty and staff know the counselling and support available, and have current information.
