Internal Complaint Committee
Introduction
Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) in MABS is functional to prevent sexual harassment of women at workplace in accordance with Vishakha Guidelines provided by Honorable Supreme Court and concerning Section 4 of All India Council for Technical Education Regulations, 2016 vide no. F AICTE/WH/2016 (Gender Sensitization, Prevention and Prohibition of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students and Redressal of Grievances in Technical Institutions).
MABS has formed the ICC to address workplace sexual harassment
The Supreme Court’s ruling defines sexual harassment as any unwanted behaviour as stated under and Female faculty members and students are made aware of the prevention and outlawry of sexual harassment of women at the workplace by the ICC.

- Demand or request for sexual favors
- Sexually coloured remarks
- Display of pornographic content in any form
- Any other inappropriate sexual behavior, whether physical, verbal, or non-verbal
Objectives
- To increase understanding of sexual harassment through educational programmes that support and nurture a respectful and secure environment for women on campus.
- To offer an unbiased, private, and encouraging atmosphere for members of the university community who may have experienced sexual harassment.
- To ensure fair and timely resolution of complaints about sexual harassment.
- To notify people about the campus’s counselling and support resources.
- To guarantee that information on sexual harassment and assault is current and complete for students, instructors and staff.
Internal Complaints Committee
A Committee against Sexual Harassment Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is reconstituted as per the guidelines of UGC, to ensure a healthy and welcoming environment for the college’s staff and students. Committee members for the academic year are as follows:

Functions of ICC
The ICC performs the following functions to ensure effective prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment at the workplace:
- Receiving Complaints:
The ICC receives complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace. Complaints may be submitted through a complaint box, via email, or in person by the aggrieved party. - Conducting Inquiries:
The ICC conducts a thorough inquiry into each complaint to determine its validity. All inquiries are carried out in a timely, impartial and confidential manner in accordance with prescribed guidelines. - Maintaining Records:
The Committee maintains proper records of all complaints received and inquiries conducted. These records are kept strictly confidential and are not disclosed without the consent of the complainant. - Taking Appropriate Action:
If the ICC finds that a complaint is valid, it recommends appropriate disciplinary action against the accused. Such action may range from a formal warning to termination of employment, depending on the severity of the offence. - Providing Support:
The ICC provides necessary support to the complainant during the inquiry process and after resolution of the complaint. This may include counselling, legal assistance or other forms of support as required. - Spreading Awareness:
The Committee creates awareness among employees and students regarding the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) policies of the institution and the procedures for reporting complaints. - Reporting:
The ICC prepares and submits an annual report to the appropriate authorities detailing the number of complaints received, complaints disposed of, cases pending for more than 90 days, orientation and training programmes conducted for ICC members, workshops or awareness programmes conducted for officers, faculty, staff and students and the nature of action taken by the institution against the perpetrator.
Overall, the Internal Complaints Committee plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe,
respectful, and harassment-free workplace and academic environment for all
stakeholders.
Anti-Ragging Committee
The Anti-Ragging Committee is constituted in accordance with the regulations and guidelines issued by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) vide Notification No. 37-3/Legal/AICTE/2009 dated 01 July 2009, with the objective of
preventing, prohibiting and eliminating ragging in all its forms within the institution.
The Committee, chaired by the Director of the institution, meets at least twice a year and also convenes as and when a complaint or petition related to ragging is received, to take appropriate and timely action.

Roles & Responsibilities
- To educate students on anti-ragging laws, sanctions and relevant enforcement of those laws.
- Raising public awareness about racial discrimination is required by AICTE/UGC regulations, which follow the Supreme Court’s Ragging CLAUSE 3 decision.
- To forbid, prevent and eradicate the causes of ragging, including any actions that have the consequence of jeering, treating or handling another student or freshmen rudely, whether they be words said or written.
- To forbid any student from engaging in unruly behavior if doing so will put them in hardship, affect their mental health or inspire fear in any freshmen.
- To do random inspections of the campus, classrooms, laboratories, restaurant, dorm, playground, buses, etc.
- To ensure that no one indulges in ragging of students.
- It is a must to inform the anti-ragging committee of any ragging-related issues discovered during surprise checks.
Instructions to Students
- All students are hereby recommended to adhere to the guidelines provided.
- Any incident that could be considered ragging should be reported right away to a committee member or to the helpline lines.
- Every pupil is not required to follow any unjustified directions from senior students.
- Any student is not required to follow the advice or direction of a senior student to visit them for any reason.

Students Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC)
As per All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Regulation, 2019 vide F. No. 1-101/PGRC/AICTE/Regulation/2019 dated 07.11.2019 a “Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC)” is constituted as under:

Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC)
The Grievance Redressal Cell is established as per the instructions of AICTE and the Gazette of India to handle the concerns, complaints, malpractices, and issues of students and staff (Teaching & Non-Teaching).
This cell strives to give students and staff (both teaching and non-teaching) a forum to discuss academic-related and unrelated issues and get the best guidance. The cell makes sure that everyone involved with the project is happy and satisfied at the end.
The Grievance Redressal Committee is formed in accordance to the provision of All India Council for Technical Education
(Redressal of Grievance of Faculty/Staff Member) Regulations, 2021 (hereinafter referred to as “AICTE Regulations”), to ensure transparency in providing fair, impartial and consistent mechanism for redressal of varied issues faced by faculty and staff members. As per the AICTE Regulations it is mandatory for institution to address the grievance of faculty and staff members, including service matters, at the institution level itself.
A grievance resolution committee is established to address the issues raised by college students and personnel (teaching and non-teaching), with the following goals:
- To make sure that diverse concerns faced by the stakeholders are resolved in a
fair, impartial, and consistent manner. - To uphold the sanctity of the college by promoting good relationships amongst
students and good professional relationships between students and staff
(both teaching and non-teaching) and amongst staffs. - To guarantee that complaints are swiftly addressed, entirely confidentially
and resolved. - To ensure that all parties involved in a grievance are treated equally and that
the grievant’s and respondent’s points of view are respected. - To guarantee that participants respect one another’s rights and dignity.
The GRC functions in consonance with the AICTE Regulations, the provisions of which have an overriding effect in case of any ambiguity or conflict, at any point of time.
