Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society, New Delhi celebrated 25 years of Excellence in Education and commenced its Silver Jubilee celebrations in the presence of 14th President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind.

Hon’ble 14th President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind in his keynote address congratulated all the members of MATES on the Silver Jubilee Celebrations and extended his best wishes for the launch of the Fourth Institution of MATES i.e., Maharaja Agrasen Business School (MABS), Rohini, Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Govt. of India, New Delhi. He said that Maharaja Agrasen, an epitome of benevolence, has left an indelible mark through centuries with his unwavering commitment to social welfare. His legacy continues to inspire, the Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society (MATES) which champions the causes of education, transforming lives and futures. Rooted in Agrasen’s ideals, MATES’ philanthropic initiatives uplift communities, reflecting the noble spirit of its legendary namesake. He referred to the ways of Maharaja Agrasen, how his citizens were enthused to give a ‘Brick and Sikka’ to all travellers visiting the state to settle. This was done to inspire the citizens to support the basic needs of his life- ‘Food, Clothing and shelter’.

Hon’ble Shri Ram Nath Kovind ji appreciated the contribution of MATES to society and congratulated the new batch of students. He highlighted the social responsibility of citizens towards the less privileged ones. He told students to enjoy the joy of giving and sharing with others. He lauded the effort of MATES in following the footsteps of Maharaja Agrasen, the famous king who was known for promoting the joy of sharing amongst its citizens.

Hon’ble Shri Kovind also congratulated everyone on the 77th Independence Day celebrations of India. With the launch of the Maharaja Agrasen Business School, this saga of service and progress attains yet another pinnacle, fostering visionary business leaders for a dynamic world.

In the inaugural event of the celebrations, Dr. Nand Kishore Garg, Founder Chairman, MATES, Hon’ble Chancellor, Maharaja Agrasen University (MAU), Himachal Pradesh shared with the audience that MATES and all its institutions, MAU, MAIT, MAIMS and MABS have planned yearlong celebrations to commemorate the journey of 25 years. Dr. Garg welcomed everyone on behalf of 10500 students, more than 500 faculty & staff and 200 Trustees. He mentioned that during the last 24 years, 21623 students had graduated from institutions of MATES.   Each one of them is serving with distinction in India and abroad in academia, research organizations, government departments, armed forces, civil services, judicial services, corporate sector and as entrepreneurs.  Wherever they are, their bond with their alma-mater is strong and they keep in touch during alumni-meet and get-togethers and on various occasions. Dr. Garg acknowledged with gratitude the monumental contribution made by the distinguished faculty in nurturing the students and all institutions under MATES to become institutions of excellence. “It is their dedication and hard work that each of the institutions has been given national ranking under NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework), Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and national accreditation by National Board of Accreditation”, he said. Dr. Garg told the audience that MAIMS was ranked A++ by NAAC – highest grading which institution, can got.

Dr. Garg also remembered the guiding and motivating patrons who always blessed, inspired and guided the initiatives taken by MATES. He said that they may not be present amongst us today but their principles and values are the driving force behind the success of MATES. He remembered Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Shri Pranab Mookherjee, Raja Veer Bhadra Singh, Shri Ashok Singhal, Shri Ram Gopal Gupta, Shri Roshan Lal Agarwal, Shri Shadi Lal Minda, Shri Prem Sagar Goel, Shri Munshi Ram Gupta, Shri Sat Narain Garg, Shri Muni Lall Gupta, Shri Shiv Dutt Gupta, Shri Satnarain Gupta, Shri Jethu Ram Jain, Shri Padam Chand Garg. He said, “we all cherish their memories.  Today we reverently bow our head in their memory”.

He also extended his heartfelt gratitude to distinguished dignitaries who have been blessing and guiding MATES since its inception. He thanked Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi, Shri Murli Manohar Joshi, Shri L K Advani, former deputy Prime Minister of India, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Late Shri Arun Jaitley, former finance minister of India, Smt. Smriti Irani, Member of the Lok Sabha, Suresh Soni, Sh. Jagdeep Dhankar, Vice President of India, Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Former Vice President of India, Yogi Aditya Nath, Chief Minister of U.P., Shri Om Birla, Speaker of the Lok Sabha and Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister of Haryana. He also thanked all the trustees who showed immense support during the journey of 25 years in building all the institutions under MATES.

Sh. Vineet Kr. Lohia (Chairman-MATES), recalled the journey of passion for quality education since 1998.   He said, “The fundamental idea was to contribute to the community and to the country in the most critical sector of higher education.  This idea evolved into a vision to establish institutions of higher learning to nurse our youth to grow into high caliber professionals.  What made our institutions distinct was a categorical emphasis to inculcate in our students the noble values of Indian traditions and culture and infuse in them a spirit of service to the society and the country.” He added, “In pursuance of this vision, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology was established in 1999.  Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies, Delhi was established in 2003.  Maharaja Agrasen University, Baddi Himachal Pradesh was established in 2013. Now in 2023, MATES is establishing its fourth institute – Maharaja Agrasen Business School.  Maharaja Agrasen Business School is being envisioned as a standalone business school, a premier business school with state of the art innovative methods of learning.”

Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Kumar Verma, VC GGSIPU, Delhi in his address mentioned that MATES was the first society to get its institute MAIT affiliated under the newly formed IP university and has continued to excel over these years. He mentioned that this year GGSIP university was also celebrating its silver jubilee. He emphasized that time has come that the institutions of higher learning contribute to nation building. Students should rise up and not only focus on getting jobs but also prepare themselves for creating jobs.

Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Singh, VC Delhi University said that we all need to contribute to ambition of 9% GDP growth of our country. He motivated the students to think of innovative ideas for starting startups. He said that the younger generation is the torch bearer of new ways of our society. He gave the example of how our youth embraced electronic payments like Paytm and motivated the older generations to seamlessly and confidently use them too. This alone led India to be the highest electronic payment use in the world.

Shri S.P. Aggarwal, IAS (Retd.), Exec. Chairman MATES said that he is elated at the commemoration of the 25th year of unwavering dedication to excellence in education by MATES. He said, “over the years, the society has set new benchmarks in academic brilliance, industry-oriented training, and holistic development. This remarkable milestone is a testament to MATES’ relentless pursuit of educational excellence, fueled by its committed faculty, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and a dynamic curriculum that prepares students for the ever-evolving professional landscape.”

Sh. Sunder Lal Goel, Senior Vice Chairman mentioned, “Today, institutions run by MATES are amongst the most trusted and sought after institutions of the country. What began as a vision has transformed into a sought-after educational society that has left an indelible mark on the landscape of higher education. MATES stands tall as an institution synonymous with quality education and holistic development.

Anand Gupta, Treasurer MATES said, “Our dedication to excellence has led us to establish multiple institutions of higher education, each imparting knowledge and values to shape the future leaders of our society. In our relentless pursuit of innovation, MATES has embraced the changing dynamics of education.

Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Gupta, Vice Chancellor, MAU, Himachal Pradesh, shared, “As we pause to celebrate our achievements, let us also look ahead with renewed zeal. The world is changing rapidly, and our commitment to quality education and holistic development remains stronger than ever. Let this milestone serve as a reminder of the potential that lies before us – to continue shaping the leaders, innovators, and change makers of tomorrow. To meet this objective the university is spreading quality education in the rural areas of the State for excellence in higher education. The vision of the University is to establish a 200 bedded multi speciality hospital and to start paramedical courses in the University by 2024-25.”

Prof. (Dr.) Rajni Malhotra Dhingra, Director, MAIMS shared, “MATES has been the guiding light, illuminating the path of education and enlightenment. Its vision and resilience have laid the foundation for the growth and success we enjoy today. It is a proud moment to announce that MAIMS has been ranked with the highest ranking A++ by NAAC.”

MABS is designed to follow the preachings and values of Maharaja Agrasen and also work closely with the industry to groom young professionals for global leadership roles. MATES LAUNCHED Maharaja Agrasen Business School

To Empower Tomorrow’s Leaders Maharaja Agrasen Business School (MABS) was inaugurated  by the 14th President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovind. AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), Ministry of Education, Govt. of India accorded approval for the Maharaja Agrasen Business School to run a two years full time PGDM program. MABS is aimed to Pioneer New Avenues in Education for the New Age Business Landscape. Prof. (Dr.) Sanjiv Marwah, a distinguished professor has been entrusted the responsibility to nurture this institute as the Founder Director.

On the occasion, Dr. Marwah said that students will discover opportunities at Maharaja Agrasen Business School with a unique TriEdge learning pedagody where the institute will embark on providing Strong Industry – Academia Interface; Beyond Classroom Learning Environment and an Innovative Tech Savvy Curriculum as per NEP 2020 guidelines.  Dr. Marwah added that Grant Thornton Bharat has partnered with Maharaja Agrasen Technical Education Society to provide exciting opportunities for hands-on learning and development to students of MABS. Their team of experienced professionals will provide 150 hours of Business Analytics training for PGDM students, 50 hours of Fintech training for finance students, and a Comprehensive training program of 200 hours over 2 years. They will provide for experienced faculty, Apprenticeships, internships, and live projects for practical experience and Job placement opportunities as Senior Associate and Consultant.

Er. T. R. Garg, General Secretary, MATES mentioned that the students shall learn from leading business school faculty and Industry Experts during their program. The basic idea is to nurture talented students to grow into high caliber business professionals capable of handling emerging national and global challenges.”

Sh. Rajnish Gupta, Secretary, MATES said, the complete batch will be offered the Global Immersion Program which is specially curated by the international cell for young management professionals to provide an Economic, Cultural and Geo Political exposure. By attending lectures, workshops and traveling abroad to meet with local business leaders, government officials, and corporate personnel students will get the opportunity to learn from professionals with varied skills while also immersing themselves in another culture and building strong relationships. This will provide a platform for global engagement, development of intellect and nurturing world class leadership qualities.

Prof S. K. Garg, former Principal of DDU College, Delhi University and Advisor, MABS shared that MAIT is a leading institute of NCR and MABS students will also explore new pedagogical ways of learning through Innovative Tech Savvy Curriculum which will include Technology adept environment, technologically advanced teaching and learning practices, Google G-Suite for online classes. MABS has already introduced learning through infographics which is a unique way of learning difficult concepts through graphic representations. MABS has collaborated with UREKA for Data Science, Analytics and Cybersecurity Club to ensure that students get Advice & Guidance from Industry Experts; Career Development Opportunities; Professional Networking, International Certifications & Trainings. Hybrid learning will be an integral part of all learning modules at MABS.

Dr. Vandana Sharma, Associate Professor, MABS shared that the students will get many opportunities to learn through Internships, Industrial Visits, Industry Conclaves, Live projects, capstone projects and case studies. She said that the institute will be ensuring a rich Corporate Interface at MABS which will include Corporate Mentorship Program, Management Development Programs, Consultancy Projects, Corporate Speaker Series, Strong Industry academia Networking, Regular guest lectures, leadership talks, seminars, conferences and webinars. This will allow students to learn directly from the industrial experts and to take lessons from their experiences and to get a holistic view of the corporate world.

Dr. Supriya Sehgal, Associate Professor MABS informed that the students enrolled for the first batch of PGDM have already been introduced to industry workshops with trainers from Barclays for their Lifeskills Programme. The students will be provided with extensive soft skills grooming from the beginning of their course for preparing them well for placements. The students will discover how to take their innovative ideas from the classroom to real life and vice versa. Students at MABS will learn from activities performed outside the classroom which will help in sharpening their problem-solving and management skills. Beyond Classroom Learning Environment at MABS will include Annual Management Fest, Student Events, Global network for learning through scholarships, Celebrations of national events and festivals, Regular Conferences, seminars, MDPs, Clubs, Houses and Student Committees, CSR and Sustainability activities and Global network for learning through scholarships.
