Exploring the Biscuit Magic: PGDM Students Embark on an Insightful Industrial Visit to Parle Biscuits Factory
In a bid to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry practices, our eager PGDM students recently had the privilege of embarking on an illuminating industrial visit to the renowned Parle Biscuits Pvt. Ltd. at Bahdurgarh, Haryana. The visit offered an invaluable opportunity for students to witness the inner workings of one of India’s leading biscuit manufacturers and gain insights into various facets of business management.
The visit commenced with an enlightening session on Human Resources (HR) practices. Students engaged in discussions with the HR team at Parle, delving into the intricacies of talent acquisition, employee engagement, and workforce management. The key takeaway was the company’s emphasis on creating a nurturing workplace culture that encourages employee growth and innovation, a vital lesson in fostering a motivated workforce.
They showcased its marketing strategies that have helped Parle maintain its market leadership. Students learned about market research, product positioning, and brand building, underlining the importance of consumer-centric approaches in achieving and sustaining success in the fiercely competitive FMCG sector.
Logistics and Supply Chain Management emerged as another highlight of the visit. Students witnessed the meticulous planning and execution involved in ensuring a seamless supply chain, from raw material procurement to final product distribution. The visit underscored the importance of efficiency, cost control, and timely deliveries in maintaining a competitive edge in the industry.
The industrial visit to Parle Biscuits Factory provided PGDM students with an immersive learning experience, where theoretical knowledge met practical insights. It left them with a profound appreciation for the complexities of managing a large-scale manufacturing operation and the diverse skill set required to thrive in the world of business.
As the students departed with a treasure trove of learnings and inspiration, it was evident that their visit to Parle had left an indelible mark on their understanding of HR, Marketing, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management – all vital components in the recipe for success in the business world.
