As per AICTE guidelines (AICTE/Legal/04(01)/2007, April 2007), a provisionally admitted candidate may cancel admission by submitting an application for cancellation in duplicate, in the prescribed format, and request a refund. An application is considered only if admission was confirmed by paying the prescribed fees in full and submitting original documents.

| Situation | Refund |
| --- | --- |
| Request received before the academic session starts, and the seat is filled by the cut-off date | Entire fee less ₹1,000 |
| Request received on or after the session starts, and the seat is filled by the cut-off date | Entire fee less seat cancellation charges on a pro-rata basis |
| Request received before or after the session starts, and the seat cannot be filled | No refund, except the security deposit |

- The entire security or caution money deposit is refunded.
- For pro-rata charges, one month counts as one unit. For example, if a candidate cancels within the first month of the session and the seat is filled by the cut-off date, the charge is the higher of one-twelfth of the entire fee or ₹1,000.
- Refund applications received between 1 January and 31 March are paid in the first week of April. The next refund date is 1 July.

**Last date for refunds:** 30 June, or as declared by AICTE.
